A Murder of Crows
A body lies arranged in Atlanta's Piedmont Park—posed with the chilling precision of a painting on canvas. Detective Nolan Anderson knows this isn't random violence. The victim is Harrison Whitfield III, a philanthropic titan whose foundation built the city's cultural landscape, staged to replicate an unattributed masterpiece. The killer has sent a message, and they are far from finished.
Thrust into the investigation is Detective Maeve Mitchell, the estranged partner Anderson lost two years ago. Forced to work side-by-side through a city of old-money dynasties, they unearth a fifty-year-old conspiracy: the stolen life's work and erased legacy of self-taught artist Josiah Calloway. As the body count rises—each tableau more intricate than the last—they realize they are tracking a man fueled by generational grief, a ghost planning a reckoning decades in the making.
With time running out before a high-society gala celebrating the stolen legacy, Nolan and Maeve must navigate a web of lies, a private club, and their own fractured past. In this propulsive Atlanta noir, the duo must catch a killer who views murder as art before he completes the deadliest panel of his masterpiece. A Murder of Crows is a gripping thriller perfect for fans of True Detective.

What Readers Are Saying
From a systems-thinking perspective, this is an impressively constructed thriller. The killer's methodology is original, relying on historical artwork, symbolism, and careful planning rather than random violence. What stood out most was how the investigation unfolded like a complex puzzle, with each clue revealing another layer of a hidden network. The connection between art crime, historical theft, and modern privilege creates a logical foundation for the plot. Most importantly, the story maintains internal consistency, which is often where thrillers stumble. Strong concept, solid execution, and enough twists to keep analytical readers engaged.
Crom WellsI genuinely enjoyed this. I read a lot of mystery and murder fiction and this one came in at the top level. Kept me engaged all the way through. I plan to read more from the author
RobertI enjoy a good mystery, and this one certainly kept me turning the pages. The combination of fine art, family secrets, and a determined killer made for a fascinating story. I especially appreciated the historical element involving stolen artwork, which added depth beyond the usual crime novel. The relationship between Nolan and Maeve felt realistic and added warmth to an otherwise dark plot. While some scenes were quite intense, the story remained engaging throughout. If you enjoy intelligent thrillers with a touch of history and plenty of suspense, this book is worth picking up.
